Brixham coastguard tasked the Exmouth RNLI inshore lifeboat George Bearman on 23 June at 1.15pm. A call from a local tourist cruising boat had reported a dinghy in trouble in the river Exe, close to Starcross Yacht Club.

Three shouts for Exmouth RNLI within 24 hours
Crew volunteers from Exmouth RNLI were tasked three times within 24 hours, including two in the middle of the night. Two boats needed assistance with engine failure on the June 20 and the third call-out was responding to a flare sighting off Straight Point at 11.18pm the same night.

At a regional award ceremony on 16 June, RNLI volunteer Hedley Saunders was awarded a silver statuette for his 10-year term as Honorary Treasurer. Hedley, a dentist by profession, has helped raise thousands of pounds for Exmouth RNLI over the last 15 years.

Brixham coastguard tasked the Exmouth’s all-weather lifeboat, Margaret Jean at 1.48pm on 21 May. A fishing boat with fuel blockage was adrift 17 miles south east of Straight Point with two men aboard.

Special visitors witness Exmouth RNLI in action
