Volunteers from Exmouth RNLI took part in a couple of local events over the weekend.
On Saturday 21 September, the all-weather lifeboat Margaret Jean was launched at 9am. Volunteers were asked to start the Champagne Challenge race, organised by the Exe Sailing Club. Members of the sailing club regularly raise money for Exmouth RNLI throughout the year and this was a good way to thank them.
On Sunday 22 September, volunteers from Exeter RNLI fundraising branch manned a stall at Exeter University Freshers’ Fair. New students attracted to the stand were keen to sign up to get involved. Students could also hear about the Exmouth RNLI launch and recovery vehicle appeal from Lifeboat Press Officer, Emma Tarling.
