Sea Sunday Service

Exmouth RNLI  hosted its annual Sea Sunday service yesterday at the lifeboat station in the ALB hall with the doors open and the sun shining. This year the thanks for the RNLI was even more evident with the launch of the George Bearman on service to rescue a stricken vessel just before the service. The event was as ever well supported with fundraisers and members of the public arriving into the boat hall to give thanks for the work of the RNLI.

Sunday July 10 saw Exmouth lifeboat station host its annual sea Sunday service with Reverend James Hutchings taking the service with Exmouth Town band and Budleigh male voice choir giving their time and musical input to raise the roof of the ALB hall with music, singing and thanks for the work of the RNLI. The very well attended service was packed with crew and their families, fundraisers, shop volunteers and members of the public, with crew volunteer Paul Balbi carried the RNLI standard

Reveerend James Hutchings said, ‘It’s always lovely to gather here to give thanks to the RNLI and time to pray for those on the sea. This year in particularly the volunteers dependability was demonstrated as there was a shout just before the service. It bought home the realisation that they’re always  there 24/7 and mix professionalism with volunteer spirit. ‘
